Hi all, I have a brand new P570 and
need to install Oracle database software and create an Oracle database=2E Here
are my questions=2E
1) I'm installing the Oracle database software in the rootvg=2E However, the PP size of rootvg is 128MB which seems to be very big=2E I'm not sure if this is too big for Oracle (in terms of performance)=2E Thoughts? If it is too big, what would my options be?
2) A new VG needs to be created for the Oracle database=2E I need a 300MB VG (RAID 5)=2E What is the best PP size for this Oracle database volume group? I worry that if a small PP size (such as 64MB) is picked, a high t-factor will be needed to accommodate the 1016 limit and the side effect of using high t-factor, if there is any=2E
3) My other option is to use the "scalable VG" which ignores the 1016 limit=2E Again, I worry if there is any drawback with this new type of VG=2E
I need to get the install done ASAP=2E Any advise is greatly appreciated!
